In this SkillLab, you’ll learn how to 3D print custom casings that integrate NFC (Near Field Communication) or RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tags. We’ll explore how these small chips can be safely embedded into your prints, and how to design around them for both functionality and aesthetics.

You’ll learn:
* The basics of 3D printing on our Prusa machines using PrusaSlicer
* How to design and print objects that can hold or embed an NFC/RFID chip
* Best materials and settings for embedding electronics
* Practical design tips for accessibility, durability, and creative applications
* How to prepare for your own smart object projects at the makerspace

This is a theory-based and demonstration-focused workshop — we’ll go through the full process step-by-step, but no finished object will be made during the session.

You will receive:
* A 3D model file (STL) of the example design
* Instructions and guidelines to customize and print it themselves at the makerspace later
